Join over 700 students who’ve let their senses become their most powerful tools for creative expression.
Debbie challenged me to find a deeper meaning in my artistic endeavours, as well as introducing a plethora of new methods to express my findings. Very grateful that this expansive course can be reviewed anytime.
This course allowed me to find my place. Not in one art form, but in my story, my nature, my history, my “Sense of Being”.
Before this course I was just 'looking' and recording what I saw. Now I can embed all my senses into my artwork making it more layered and complex and improving my connection to the environment around me.
Amazing course. Debbie will teach you how to explore your local haunts and portray them in a way that is truly unique, truly you. It has impacted not only my art but how I look at the world and how I interact with the people around me.
I’ve loved every minute of this workshop. It’s helped me discover how to find and develop a theme, something I have struggled with in the past.
What if you could create authentic art by capturing the sounds and rhythms of your landscape?
The problem with a live class is that you are limited by time. But in this online experience, you will do the equivalent of half a dozen live workshops with Debbie (we did the math!). You’ll immerse yourself in a rich, multi-sensory journey through mixed media, using sight, sound and touch as tools for artistic discovery.
It may take you weeks – or even years – to explore everything Debbie shares. But by fully engaging with the course, you’ll unlock new ways of seeing, hearing and feeling your environment – and translate those experiences into powerful, personal works of art.
And best of all? With lifetime access, you can take it slow or dive right in. It’s up to you!
Sensing Place invites you to:
Use sight, sound, and touch as creative prompts to make work influenced by place and lived experience.
Translate sketches and observations into expressive 2D and 3D mixed fibre artworks.
Experiment with unconventional materials, mark-making, stitching, and collage to expand your creative language.
Develop a confident, intuitive practice grounded in experimentation and personal response to environment.
Learn playful, process-led approaches that help you move beyond habit and expectation.
Join a global community of explorative artists and share your work in a curated online exhibition.
My art is a conversation with the sensory experiences of my environment – the call of the seabirds, the rhythm of the waves, and the tactile joy of natural textures under my hands. My practice is an exploration of sight, sound, and touch, inviting a dialogue between the artist and the landscape.
