Learn how to see through Eva Kalien’s poetic lens – where performance, philosophy, and process merge to create art infused with meaning.
What Eva’s students say:
Eva's approach, processes, and resources have been life-changing and have helped me navigate the hardest time in my life. It has helped me keep breathing.
Embarking on Poetry & Place is an adventure, a journey, also to oneself, which has a great influence on artistic activity. Courage is rewarded!
Doing Poetry & Place has changed my art practice forever. It has radically changed the quality of my work in a very short time.
I really like Eva's calm presence and insistence that nothing is ever wrong – that we can keep going. For whatever reason, this time the words stuck.
I have been an artist all my life and have had a lot of training over the years! Nothing but this course has provided me with exactly what I needed to bring out my innermost thoughts!
You are your greatest potential. But have you noticed how, amid the distractions of daily life, something inside us often goes unheard?
How can we connect with others through our art if we’ve lost connection with ourselves? How do we find our creative flow and poetic process within our practice?
For Eva Kalien, the answer begins in quiet, still places in nature.
She encourages you to find your own space to immerse in deep silence. The key is to rest within yourself. Only then can you step fully into your creativity and create from within.
In Poetry & Place, Eva reveals the methods and philosophies that transform quiet moments in nature into deeply expressive mixed media art. You’ll:
Layer with lines and sketches, creating your own collage papers inspired by the ocean and forest.
Explore colour mixing with watercolours, gesso, rust, and pigments to craft your unique palette.
Build textured backgrounds with pigments, oils, and inks – guided by your intuition.
Dive into Eva’s philosophies and processes to expand your creative horizons with delicate mixed-media art.
Explore how working in miniature refines your larger works as you create abstract collages of contrast, line, and texture.
Learn to connect with your subject through deep listening, gaining insights you might otherwise miss.
The art is there. Always. For everyone. Sometimes it take a little courage to face your own art and welcome it.
- Eva Kalien
Eva Kalien’s mixed media works draw from a rich background in graphics, photography, and painting, studied in Wuppertal and Essen Folkwang, with further masterclasses under Andreas Durrer and Gret Helsen.
Eva is deeply committed to exploring the poetic and intuitive nature of creation, connecting inner reflection with tangible, expressive art. Her practice encourages sensitivity to materials, rhythm, and the quiet spaces where ideas emerge.
As a teacher, Eva is generous, thoughtful, and deeply philosophical. She guides you step by step through techniques while inviting you to listen to your intuition, explore your own creative voice, and let poetry shape your art.
