Transform your love of fibre and stitch into art that’s deeply, unmistakably yours:
What Fleur's students say:
Through Fleur’s gentle and encouraging manner and generous skill sharing, I have made some things that no longer get stuffed in the cupboard unfinished but are displayed proudly in my home. Thanks to Fleur, I am on a stitch journey!
Joyful Embroidery is a space where you can relax your soul and heart, devote time to yourself and explore what fills you with joy. The course itself is beautifully done, but the main thing about it is the people and community that will support and embrace you.
This course helped me rediscover my love for colour and texture without pressure. It was truly something I did for myself - and that's always the best work that I end up producing.
Worth every penny and my favourite class so far.
This course will indeed give you joy - because Fleur's enthusiasm is infectious - but also it will change what you may have thought of as 'just an embroidery' course.
You can create the extraordinary. But does your mind whisper I can’t, before you’ve even begun?
We’ve all been there – surrounded by beautiful threads and fabrics, with a mountain of unfinished projects. Too many ideas, too many colours, too many rules.
That's exactly why Fleur Woods created Joyful Embroidery... so you can quiet the noise and return to the joy of making as you learn Fleur's intuitive process that helped her move beyond perfectionism to finished pieces that flow with authenticity and heart.
Start the new year with a quiet mind, a full heart, and colourful thread.
No rules. No guilt. No pressure. Just pure creative play, within a framework that builds both your confidence and your craft.
Return to the idea of making with pure joy, following Fleur’s supportive and creative framework.
Untangle your knowledge of embroidery materials and techniques, and then let go of the rules!
Experience the fun and freedom of creating painted linen backgrounds and other mixed media approaches.
Build 3D elements (including ceramics!) inspired by nature to add texture and depth to your fibre art
Create delicious textural rockpools, and explore satisfying hand embroidery approaches like punch needling.
Join a global community. Connect with like-minded artists, and show your work in a curated online exhibition.
The moment I chose to pick up a needle and thread, I felt the women of past generations behind me, just there, giving me everything I needed at that moment.
- Fleur Woods
Hi, I’m Fleur Woods a contemporary embroidery artist from New Zealand and I’m here to share my own mixed media techniques and guide you through processes that support genuine creativity.
I can’t wait for you to;
- Fall in love with the very process of embroidery itself.
- Find the colours and imagery, that feel like magic to you.
- Forget the rules and relax into your creative authenticity.
- Develop the knowledge to compose one-of-a-kind textile collages.
- Never feel guilty about starting another embroidery project again!
We all need a jumping-off point, a simple framework to follow and most importantly to find joy in our creative process so we can ultimately get to that holly grail of finished embroidery artworks!
And there’s nothing like creating together with a bunch of like-minded people to share the journey with so I’m thrilled to invite you to learn with me through my new online course.
