Threads of Connection with Kerri Hollingsworth

Discover Kerri Hollingsworth’s distinctive approach to tactile fibre art.
In this new Take Two course, Kerri invites you into her studio to explore the world of sculptural fibre art - where texture, touch, and storytelling come together.
You’ll learn practical techniques in latch hook, tufting, and sculptural construction, while uncovering how fibre can move beyond flat surfaces into expressive, functional forms.
This course balances playful exploration with solid skill-building, helping you create artwork that feels authentically yours - pieces that reflect your story, style, and imagination. By the end of Threads of Connection, you’ll see salvaged and recycled materials in a whole new light, recognising their potential as the foundation for meaningful fibre art.
From her studio nestled among the gum trees on Taungurung Country in Taggerty, Victoria, artist Kerri Hollingsworth transforms natural fibres and recycled textiles into sculptural pieces designed to be touched, felt, and experienced. Her work is a tactile narrative inspired by nature, motherhood, and the quiet beauty of everyday life on the farm.
A conscious and intuitive creator, Kerri’s practice reflects her deep respect for the environment and her commitment to pushing creative boundaries.
In Australia alone, around 30 million plastic toothbrushes end up in landfill each year - a staggering reminder of the impact of everyday items on our planet. Learning this sparked a profound shift in Kerri’s life and art. She began reimagining waste, weaving discarded textiles and materials into striking works she calls upholstery art.
