Discover Juz Kitson’s distinctive approach to sculptural making

Join artist Juz Kitson to explore the raw, tactile connection between clay, fibre, and form.

In this new Take Two course, Juz invites you into her studio to experience her distinctive approach to handbuilding - where porcelain meets found materials, and structure merges with sensuality. You’ll learn to combine ceramic and mixed media techniques to create multifaceted sculptural works that pulse with life and meaning.

Drawing on her rich knowledge of contemporary art, Juz will help you refine your ideas, develop conceptual depth, and translate instinct into form. You’ll come away with new handbuilding skills, a deeper understanding of material transformation, and the confidence to push your creative boundaries - crafting work that feels both grounded and otherworldly.

Artist Juz Kitson

Juz Kitson is a celebrated Australian sculptor and installation artist whose work blurs the boundaries between beauty and the grotesque. Once working in the porcelain capital of Jingdezhen, China, Juz now calls Australia home, where she creates tactile, hybrid forms that explore life, death, desire, and regeneration.

Since graduating from the National Art School with First Class Honours in 2009, the same year her work was discovered and acquired by David Walsh for MONA (Museum of Old and New Art) Juz’s career has flourished internationally. Her meticulously crafted installations have featured in major exhibitions including the Museum of Contemporary Art’s Primavera, Art Dubai, and the Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art.
Described as “quietly seductive, provocative, and beautiful,” Juz’s practice combines porcelain, fur, bone, wax, and glass to examine the delicate balance between the natural and the human worlds. Her works are held in public and private collections across Australia and Europe, including the Art Gallery of South Australia, Artbank, and RMIT University.

From her studio, The Art House Milton, Juz continues to experiment and teach, inviting others to explore material transformation and the sensual possibilities of clay. In 2026, she joins Take Two to share her process and philosophy in an immersive new course where raw material meets refined form, and where beauty dares to confront the untamed.
