From Intuition to Connection
Each work in this exhibition begins with an intuitive response – a mark, a colour, a fragment of paper – and traces the point at which that first impulse starts to find its shape.
Connection is the thread running through the exhibition. Between mark and surface, between the artist and the work taking form, and ultimately between the work and whoever encounters it. Cordula framed this as the invisible force that holds composition together, and it is that quality – felt rather than explained – that the exhibition invites you to experience.
Student exhibition: The Art of Abstract Collage with Cordula Kagemann
"What happens when intuition is allowed to lead, and connections are discovered along the way? As you explore these works, notice how shapes, colours, marks and spaces begin to relate to one another, creating rhythm, tension, balance and unexpected conversations.
Perhaps you will discover connections of your own, because a work of art is never complete until it meets the eye of the viewer."
– Cordula Kagemann
