Toni Hartill here 👋
A guest appearance in the blog from one of your favourite Take Two tutors
Hi everyone,
I’m just popping in here to the Take Two blog to share a little bit of my excitement and gratitude for what it’s like being a tutor for Take Two Art Courses.
My course Unbound is currently open for enrolment for just a few more days and the online group is bursting with activity as new students join and past students return.
It’s wonderful to see that students already feel comfortable sharing their first attempts, things they’ve learnt and any difficulties they’re having, and the encouragement and support from others is so heartwarming to see. Whether as the tutor or as a student, it is such a nurturing space to be present in and I feel so grateful to be there.
As in any course, the students come from a wide and varied background, from all over the world, and with many skills with different media and many different interests or goals. At first, this felt a little daunting but it actually brings such a richness and diversity to the course, such a wealth of experience and knowledge, and so much inspiration for everyone, me included! Students are generous in sharing their techniques and process so it is a very collaborative environment for learning.
It is incredibly rewarding to see a student create something for the first time, surprising themself with what they’ve achieved and learnt in the process.
It’s just as rewarding when an accomplished artist in one field has chosen to join the course to push their ideas out of their comfort zone and try working in a new format, with different materials or to simply apply new ideas to their practice.
No matter what a student’s starting point is, it is exciting and a privilege to bear witness to their discoveries, their achievements and their progress towards their personal goals.
I’d like to share with you just a glimpse of what some of the students have been creating. Every day, as I go online, I’m inspired and excited to be present and to have this opportunity to connect with like-minded creatives from all over the globe.
I’d like to extend a very special thank you to everyone who has chosen Unbound. It’s a pleasure and an honour to be able to support you on this course.
Best wishes,
Toni Hartill
