Making Connections - Student Exhibition 2021
It is fitting that your work reflects the diversity and beauty to be found in our shared world, particularly during the year that the UK hosted the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26). and a time we have been more isolated from each other as a result of the pandemic. Through your experience of your own space and the development of processes and techniques you walked alongside me as we shared skills and exchanged ideas. Nature is our sanctuary, and to quote from 'Embroidering the Everyday': This local landscape seeps deeper into my bones as I grow older and learn to appreciate it more.
Walking Our Path
You have been resourceful in the use of materials and creative in your application of processes as you created your own connections between the making and the meanings you find within your work. Drawing, remains a part of that process, it stills us and makes us pay attention as we 'draw' from the world around us. We all see things differently and the wonderful pieces created on this course is a testimony to that.
