Between Silence

Rooted in attentive observation and quiet enquiry, these works explore place as a space of possibility, intuition, and personal response. Through land art, collage, artist books, and assemblage, each piece reflects a thoughtful progression of ideas shaped by reflection and process.

"A place of possibilities and an area that has paths. Paths that are full of possibilities, experiences, full of the deepest art. Just by the fact that they are walking. Not the completeness is the quality of walking there. Not the desire to arrive or to find. It is the attention of the seeker, marked by soft silence. To have openness for something that can only show itself when the still, searching, inner gesture accompanies it protectively. In this silence, it can become loud, racy, wild and very lively. And yet, enveloped by silence, time ticks differently, the doors of intuition open in a special way.

From creating land art in the mountains and on the ocean shore, to abstracting and collaging landscapes, to making artist books and assemblages and finally building upon everything they have learned to create the pieces you see here the results have been superb. I want to thank everyone who have taken this journey with me, for trusting and believing in me as their tutor and guide!

Poetry and Place is the offering of one of those ways. Many wonderful people have set out and become seekers. Between the Silence shows a beautiful variety of them, shows something of the joy of being on the way in the sense of art."
