Collections as a Catalyst - Student Exhibition 2024
Objects can represent and trigger many emotions and memories and be the catalyst for beginning new work. When we have time to really consider what they represent, many possibilities and directions for related creativity can arise.
Collating Past, Present
What has been instructive for me is to see how deeply and thoughtfully each of you have made your choices, whether they be based on family, community or experience.
I have also been impressed at the commitment with which you have tried new materials and experimented with media in new and ingenious ways.
Most of all though, it has been a privilege to share your visions, special remnants and pieces of fabric and most of all, the objects that started you off!
So enjoy your exhibition and congratulations to you all.
Anne Kelly
