Transformation
Student exhibition: Embrace the Journey with Wen Redmond
"The plethora of techniques fills the well. It can bring revelations as one must focus to see beyond, to perceive what one is drawn to. Then the learning begins. Art is a combination of what you learn and what your life gives you. The resulting art is both personal and transformative.
Art is an instrument that returns us to ourselves. The course gives you guidelines and tools, but you fill the surface, in this case, literally. The photography and the substrate together make your art, your work, your photography, more personal and fulfilling than simply printing a photograph on glossy paper or plain fabric. It’s a conversation with yourself. A gift that you give to hear the voice of your muse."
- Wen Redmond
Awareness. The ability to look deeply is the root of creativity. To see past the ordinary and mundane and get to what may otherwise be invisible. Awareness is not a state of force. There’s a little effort, though persistence is key. It’s something you allow to happen.
- The Creative Act: A Way of Being Rick Rubin
